Caller ID Pool

Caller ID Pool

Caller ID Pools allow you to create a group of Caller IDs that can used when making outbound calls. The key reason for Caller ID Pools is to allow your system to display a different Caller ID each time you dial.

The limits on Caller IDs is somewhat dependant on your Voice Provider but the general restrictions are:

  • Legally you may only utilise a Caller ID that you own.
  • Caller ID may be any national or local fixed line number
  • Caller ID may be a mobile
  • Caller ID may NOT be an 13, 1300 or 1800 no.
  • Caller ID may NOT be a premium number

Many service providers will not allow a mobile no. and some will only allow you to present a Caller ID that is attached to your service.

Noojee allows for all of the above permissible options.

Trunk Groups

To utilise a Caller ID pool you need to create a CLID Rewrite for a Trunk Group.

Essentially when you dial a number the system will select a Trunk Group to dial through.

To utilise your pool create a Caller ID Rewrite with a Rewrite Type of 'Pool'.

The Trunk Group will then selected a Caller ID from the Pool at random each time a number is dialed.

Campaigner

Currently Noojee Campaigner (Noojee's Predictive dialer) utilises its own Caller ID Pool mechanism. The Campaigner Pool mechanism will be merge with this Pool mechanism in a forthcoming relase.

NJ Click

Currently Noojee Click (click to dial for browsers) utilises its own Caller ID Pool mechanism. The Campaigner Pool mechanism will be merge with this Pool mechanism in a forthcoming relase.

Pools

You can create any number of Pools each with its own set of Caller IDs.

This allows you to create multiple Caller ID rewrites which each utilise a different set of Caller IDs.

Example:
You want display a Mobile no. from a pool when dialing mobiles and a fixed line number when dialing any other number.

Create two pools:
Mobile - add a list of mobile numbers
Fixed Line - add a list of fixed lines (e.g. 03 8320 8100)

Create two Caller ID Rewrites for the Trunk Group:
Caller ID Rewrite (1)
Name: Use Mobile Pool
Description: Utilises the Mobile Pool when a mobile number is being dialed.
Pattern Match On: DID Number
Pattern: 04XX XXX XXX
Rewrite Type: Caller ID Pool
Caller ID Pool: Mobile
Caller ID Rewrite (2)
Name: Used Fixed Line Pool
Description: Utilises the Fixed Line Pool when a land line is being dialed.
Pattern Match On: DID Number
Pattern: 0[2356789] XXX XXX
Rewrite Type: Caller ID Pool
Caller ID Pool: Fixed Line
