Phone

Extension

The extension number of your desktop handset e.g. 999.

Normally Noojee Click assumes that you are using a SIP handset, however Noojee Click can work with a landline or mobile phone (cell phone) acting as your handset. This can be handy if you are working from home (assuming you have connection to your Asterisk server). To use a landline or mobile you need to use an alternate format for the extension number which is 'Local/XXXXXXXXX' where XXXXXXXX is the land line or mobile number e.g. Local/83208100. Becareful when operating in this mode as Noojee Click will call both your land line and the dialed number simultaneously so you need to answer your land line or mobile quickly :D

Auto Answer

If checked your handset will auto answer rather than ring.

This only works for SIP phones.

Phone Type

If Auto Answer is set Noojee Click needs to know the type of handset. If your handset isn't listed then try 'Snom'. Note: some handsets (Polycom) require the handset to be configured for Auto Answer before this feature will work.

International Prefix

The prefix to add to numbers when dialing internationally. Any number with a leading '+' will have the '+' replaced with this prefix.

e.g.

if the International Prefix is: 0011

+6138 320 1800

becomes

0011 613 8320 8100

Dial Prefix

An optional numeric prefix to add to every number before dialing.

This feature is typically used if you need to dial '0' or '9' to obtain a line. This is not normally required for a modern phone system like Asterisk but some organisation have tried to emulate their old phone system so still have this requirement.

Local Prefix

Some websites include the full area code for a phone number.

e.g +613 8320 8100 (+613 being the area code).

In some cases if you try to dial a local number with the full area code the call will fail. The Local Prefix option allows you to specify a prefix which is either stripped or substituted before the number is dialed. Enter your local prefix in the first field and leave the second blank if you simply want it stripped. In some circumstances you may want to replace the local prefix in which case enter the replacement text in the second field.

e.g.

Local Prefix: +613

If you attempt to dial

+613 8320 8100

then Noojee Click would dial

8320 8100
