The X-lite Softphone is a piece of software that allows for SIP based phone calls from a computer.

X-lite requires a headset to work effectively, and a good quality headset will provide a much better end-user experience.

Several versions are available -  the testing and configuration in this guide was performed on a Windows 7 PC.
