Business Messages

Business Messages allow you upload and control messages that are played to callers.

Businesss Messages are used in Call Routes and Queues to play a pre-recorded message to a caller.

Pre-recorded messages a created using a can be created by:

  • third party tool (or a voice studio) and upload as a wav file (high quality method)
  • using the 'record' button and recording directly from your handset (quick low quality method, use this when designing/testing a route).

Once a wav file has been uploaded it can be used by a number of the Call Route ActionsSteps.

Upload a message

To create a new Business Message first Click the 'New' button at the bottom left hand side of the page.

You now have a Business Message that can be used from any Call Route Action or Queue.

Record via your Handset

You can create quick and dirty recordings via your handset.

Create a new Version (as below) and then click the 'Record' button. 

Your handset will ring.

Answer the call, wait for the tone and then record your message.

Hangup.

You can now playback your recording using the Playback button and make another recording if your not happy with the first try.

Click save when you are done.

Versions

You can also upload multiple versions of a Business Message. Having Multiple version of a message can be useful for a variety of purposes.

For example a single Business Message can be used by multiple Call Routes or Queues (or both). Changing a Business Messages will cause the new message to be used by all of the Call Routes and Queues that use that Business Message. A version of a Business Message can then be used for Public Holidays. Simpy upload a holiday appropriate version of the message and then Activate that version. Once the holiday period is over you can simply re-activiate the original version of the message.

Activate a Version

To Activate a version go to the Versions tab of the Business Message.
