Restore Keys Preamble

== WARNING ==

The process of Restoring Keys has the real risk of LOOSING ACCESS to ALL RECORDINGS!

Before proceding please ensure that you have a FULL Backup of the System.

This process should only be run out of hours.

Recordings of any live calls running through the system whilst this process is running are highly likely to not be accessible.

 == WARNING ==

When Encryption was originally activate the system generates a set of encryption keys and takes the adminsitrator through the process of downloading those keys.

The keys are a contained in a zip file which by default is called 'keys.zip'.

The Administrator would have been instructed to save the keys to removeable media (e.g. USB drive) and store the keys in a secure location such as a Safe.

To restore this systems keys you MUST have a copy of that keys.zip file.

You now need to find the keys.zip file so you have it ready when asked.

Now the fine print.

In actual fact the the risk is really only if you restore the wrong keys and there is possibly a small window of risk to active recordings during the injection of the new keys.

Even if you restore the wrong keys there is no permanent damage (exect to any recordings that are running whilst the bad keys are in place) as you can simply re-install the right keys and everything is then back to normal (except for any recordings made whilst the bad keys were in place)

However there is some risk and if you don't follow the recommended process at the top of this page then all warrantees are void and you are on your own.
