LDAP Authentication
Overview
Noojee Administrator supports LDAP authentication to allow integration with an organisations existing LDAP infrastructure such as Microsoft Active Directory or OpenLDAP.
LDAP authentication is achieved by synchronising a users account each time a user logs in.
At the point in time a users logs into Noojee Admin their username and password is used to authenticate them against the LDAP server. Providing the login succeeds a reciprocal account is created within Noojee Admin. The synchronisation process also creates security groups within Noojee Admin based on the groups attached to the user's LDAP account using a mapping processes.
The NoojeeAdmin account is always authenticated locally. This ensures that system maintenance can be performed even if the LDAP server is down.
