Do Not Call Registry (DNCR)
Australia legislation requires all outbound contact centres to 'wash' their leads via the Do Not Call Registry BEFORE they are called.
DISCLAIMER: Noojee is not providing legal advice and you should seek independant legal advice when setting up your call centre. The following is provided on a best effort basis to provide some general hints as to what you should be aware of.
Firstly the DNCR washing service should not be confused with Noojee's lead cleansing service. Noojee's lead cleansing service is designed to remove 'disconnected' numbers from your list of leads. Noojee's service is designed to optimise your dialer's/team's performance by eliminated wasted time caused by disconnected numbers. Noojee's lead cleansing service does NOT perform the same function as the DNCR. Noojee RECOMMENDS that you use our lead cleansing service to optimise your team, whilst the legislation REQUIRES you to wash your leads against the DNCR.
The DNCR operates a simple to use website that allows you to submit a CSV file (think Excel spreadsheet) for checking against the list of registered phone numbers. Check out our 18.02 MS-Excel page for details on creating a CSV file from Excel. Generally within a 15-25 minutes of the list being submitted it is returned with registered and not registered phone numbers marked. You must ONLY call the numbers which are marked as 'not-registered'.
Depending on the 'return' format you request the return list will contain either:
a) only numbers which are registered
b) only numbers which are not registered
c) both regisetered and not registered numbers
As a call centre you MUST only call the phone numbers which are marked as NOT registered.
Generally Noojee recommends that you choose option b) to recieve only thost numbers which are NOT registered and therefore you may call.
A list which has been washed via the DNCR is only valid for a period of 30 days. This means that you MUST NOT call any numbers on the list after the 30 days has expired. If you wish to call them after the 30 days has expired then you must re-wash the list.
