Make Temp Recording

The Make Temp Recording action allows you to prompt the caller to record a temporary message. The temporary messages can be played back using the Play Temp Recording action.

Temporary recordings existing until the system is next rebooted.

Temporary recordings have been used to capture a message then using Create Callback to trigger a second call to a third party to whom the recording is played.

Note: Temporary records are NOT visible through the Recording page.

You should us the Play Tone action before the Recording action so that the user has an audio indicator as to when the recording starts.

You should also play a message similar to:

After the tone please record your message. When done, press the hash key to end your recording.

Fields

Filename Variable

The name of a Route Variable to store the filename of the temporary recording.

Pass this Route Variable to the 'Play Temp Recording' action to play the recording back.

Max Recording Length

The maximum amount of time, in seconds, that the recording will continue for.  If this time is exceed the recording will automatically cease and the Route will execute the next Step.
