Trunk
Trunks
Trunks define the set of external telephony service via which calls are recieved and sent.
Every system MUST have the 'Internal' trunk which has a dial string of SIP/ and a Realm of Internal. Without the Internal trunk you will not be able to dial internal extensions.
Fields
Field | Descriptoin |
---|---|
Name | The name of the Trunk used when users are required to select a trunk. |
Description | A 'meaningful' description of what the trunk is used for that will still make sense to you in 2 years time. |
Dial String | The dial prefix required to send a call to the Trunk. |
Default Caller ID | The caller ID to be passed if no explict CLID has been set. Leave blank if you want a private CLID as the default. |
Realm | Indentifies if this Trunk is an external or internal trunk. The 'Internal' trunk (usually SIP/) is marked as an Internal realm. This is critical as it affects how Caller ID Rewrites are applied (i.e. Caller ID rewrites are not applied to any Internal trunk). |
Call Limit | The maximum number of simultaneous calls this trunk can support. |
Route V2 Context | The Noojee PBX context to place the call into. For an inbound trunk this is normally 'inbound' for the 'Internal' trunk this should normally be 'handset'. |
Disabled | If true then this trunk will be disabled and no outbound calls will be passed through it. Note: the trunk will still be registered and as such inbound calls can still arrive on this trunk. To de-register the trunk with the SIP provide you need to select the 'Disabled' Registration Mode on the 'Registration' Tab. |
Allow Auto Fail | Enables the Auto Fail logic. If the trunk registration is lost then the system will signal that this trunk has failed. Depending on how your Trunk Group is configured this may result in a full fail-over of the Trunk Group. Note: Auto Fail can only detect major failures such as lost registration, call quality issues and similar can not be detected by this mechanism. |
Auto Fail Delay Seconds | Only applicable when Allow Auto Fail is enabled The number of seconds the trunk has to be in a failed state before we consider it failed. This setting is to avoid minor outages causing a failover. |
Auto Fail Reset Delay Seconds | Only applicable when Allow Auto Fail is enabled If a trunk has failed then the system will wait this period of time, after the trunk comes back up, before we consider it up. |
