Handset Registration

Registration options control how the handset negotiates its registration with the PBX.

in most cases the default settings are correct and shouldn't be changed as they are likely to break your handset unless you a SIP guru.

Fields

Field Explanation
Qualify When the handset is turned on, the system then checks if it is still on at a designated interval. The default interval is 2,000 milliseconds.
Codec Disallow This should normally not be visible but if it is it allows you to explicitly disallow specific codes. For must systems the use of 'Codec Allow' is the preferred option as is specifically control the set of supported codecs.
Codec Allow Specifiies the set of allowed codecs. The default set of codes (alaw, ulaw, g729) are correct for almost all sites. In some cases you may want to remove alaw and ulaw to force all calls to use the compresed g729 codec.
DTMF Mode

Controls how DTMF singles (the sound you here when you press a digit) is send down the channel. The default frc2833 is the recommended option.

Host If 'Dynamic' is set (recommended) then the handset will supply its IP address when it registers. If you remove the 'Dynamic' tick then you must enter the handsets IP address.
Insecure  Specifies how to handle connections with peers. Default no (authenticate all connections which is recommended).
